I’m excited to announce the publication of Behold (Wipf and Stock), a new poetry book by national bestselling author Michael McCarthy, featuring a series of my drawings.

Michael and I met more than a decade ago, and over the years we’ve shared an ongoing creative dialogue. About two years ago, he approached me with the idea for a collaborative book. He had already written the poems for Behold and was drawn to my portrayals of nature and my process of revealing the symbolic within the physical form. I was immediately intrigued by the way his poems explored the elegant geometry shared by bones and stars, and it felt like a natural fit to begin drawing in response.

Behold lyrically explores how our bodies reflect celestial patterns—how the very curves of our jaws and feet echo the shapes of galaxies and planetary orbits. Michael, the son of a rocket scientist, takes readers on a poetic journey from the arches of ancient Rome to the sandstone spans of the American West to the island of Sámos, home of early Greek astronomers. Together, our work weaves science and spirit, geometry and myth, into a hymn to the harmony between cosmos and self.

In April 2025, Yale University’s Forum on Religion and Ecology featured Behold in its Journey of the Universe newsletter, which explores the evolution of the universe and our place within it.

Behold was published in December 2024 and is available through Wipf and Stock, Amazon, and other online booksellers. Michael is also the author of The Hidden Hindenburg and Ashes Under Water. My own work continues to explore the intersection of ecology, myth, and the human form through sculpture and drawing.
